How do students see the counselor?Students may be referred by a teacher, parents, or by a self-referral. I will provide forms and permission slips to each classroom. I will also be available at parent/teacher conferences, so if you would like to meet with me about your child, I am happy to visit with you.

About Me
Hello, I am Kaci Hutson. I am a mom, wife, and educator. I have three children, Hayden, Hunter, and Henley. I am a first year school counselor but have a 10 year history in education. I have a Master's in Education in School Counseling. I am also trained in Psychological First Aid, Grief Counseling for Children, and an Intro in Play Therapy.
As a child, I went to Lane School from Pre-K to 8th grade. When I decided to become an educator, Lane was the only school I ever wanted to teach at and has always been home to me. I love the children in the school I have had the pleasure of teaching and getting to know and throughout my teaching career, I always had a bigger vision of how I could do more to help my students achieve their own success.
Throughout my years as an educator, I have seen many children with needs that go beyond educational. With proper support and facilitation, many of these students can be successful. My belief is that each school should have a school counselor to help students navigate through their academic and emotional lives at school. I have been fortunate enough to have an administrator that listened to my vision and saw potential within me to pursue it. My desire is to help all students be heard, supported, and understood.
